The Dangote Refinery is said to be operating normally following a fire outbreak at the effluent treatment plant in the early hours of Wednesday.
Viral clip and pictures showed a cloud of thick smoke billowed into the sky from the facility with no detail of what caused the fire.
But a statement by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina noted that the fire was a minor incident and that the Refinery was still in operation.
Chiejina also noted that there was not record of injury to any staff or person present on the scene at the time of the fire.
