At least seven persons have been killed in a fresh bandit attack on Mai Dabino village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to an eyewitness, the hoodlums operated for about three hours after invading the village at about 10:00pm, shooting sporadically to scare the residents, and kidnapping an unknown number of individuals, predominantly women and children.
The hoodlums, armed with sophisticated weapons, also burnt down several houses, shops, and motor vehicles worth millions of naira belonging to the residents during the operation.
The Katsina police spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, who confirmed the attack via text message, said an investigation is currently ongoing, and further developments will be communicated in due course.
