
President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his condolences to the Atanda family of Iwo in Osun State over the passing of their patriarch and former Chairman of Old Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Chief Oluremi Ademola Atanda.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised Chief Atanda’s contributions to education and development in Nigeria, while offering condolences to the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the people of Iwoland, praying for the repose of the elder statesman’s soul and honoured his legacy.
Chief Atanda, who was the Eketa of Iwoland, founded the Atanda Continuing Education Centre, a renowned institution that prepared many students for university education in the 1970s and 1980s.
He was also a member of the 1978 Constituent Assembly and the 1994-1995 Political Reforms Conference.
