Spain has said it will request to intervene in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel’s actions in Gaza at the international court of justice.
Spain’s foreign minister Jose Manuel Albares said it’s a matter of commitment to international law, and a desire to support the court in its work and strengthen the united nations.
According to Albares the move compliments Ireland, which also announced it would intervene in the case, to support the role of the court as the maximum legal entity in the system.
South Africa approached the international court of justice, to stop Israel from its military operations in Gaza, which it said was an outright genocide.
