The Lagos State Police Command has denied rumour circulating that a Lagos DPO was kidnapped.
According to the viral claim, it was alleged that the DPO was kidnapped around 8pm yesterday when he lodged at an hotel in Okokomaiko, Ojo area of the state.
But the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin described the claim as a lie, noting that the DPO in issue is now at his office, tirelessly carrying out his duty to guarantee the safety of people and property under his authority.
He wrote, ”We wish to debunk the rumour circulating that a Lagos DPO was kidnapped. This claim is entirely false. The DPO in question is currently in his office, diligently performing his duties to ensure the safety of lives and property within his jurisdiction.
“We sincerely thank everyone who called this morning out of concern. We appreciate your support and assure you that we will continue to discharge our duties professionally.”
