The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed disappointment that many individuals he assisted in securing political power during the 2023 general election now avoid him.
According to Umahi, even National Assembly members whom he helped to power are among those distancing themselves from him.
Umahi stated, “It is only Chief Onyekachi Nwebonyi who will openly acknowledge that I am his father and boss. The others feel that by doing so, the state governor, my successor, will be angry with them.”
He added that the governor cannot do that because he too openly acknowledges Umahi’s role in his emergence.
The minister said the development has led him to stop having political godsons and instead opt for political friends.
He vowed to stick with Governor Francis Nwifuru for eight years and thanked God for giving the governor the grace to unite all the leaders of the state.
