
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has described he concept behind the Lagos-built OMI-BUS ferries launched yesterday by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the future of Transportation in Lagos.
Osiyemi explaining the motive behind the initiative stated that it was designed particularly to address issue of mass transportation, by improving other means of transport, diverting over reliance on the roads and rail network.
Recall Governor Sanwo-Olu commissioned the OMI-BUS Brand New Locally-Made, Ferry, taking a trip from the Badore Jetty to the Five Cowries Terminal, Falomo, Ikoyi.
The OMI-BUS is international standardized Vessel that meet Bureau Veritas’ specific safety and reliability criteria – 40 passengers’ capacity.
