President Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday address a Joint Sitting of National Assembly as part of events lined up to commemorate 25 years of unbroken democracy and legislative practice in Nigeria.
A statement jointly signed by Spokespersons of the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu and House of Representatives, Akin Rotimi, noted that the session will be marked by a series of events scheduled to begin in the Green Chamber, House of Representatives Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
Highlights of the event include a keynote speech by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it would also feature commemorative lectures on the theme, 25 Years of the National Assembly: Lessons & Opportunities by Femi Gbajabiamila, former President of the Senate David Mark, and Former Military Leader, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas both said the event would further attest to the resilience and enduring strength of Nigeria’s democracy and the pivotal role of the National Assembly in safeguarding it.
