In Peru, the Attorney General’s office has filed a constitutional complaint against President Dina Boluarte in an alleged corruption case involving her use of luxury watches.
The prosecutors office accused Boluarte of receiving a bribe – an allegation – Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen labeled unconstitutional.
If the Congress moves forward on it, the accusation could lead to Boluarte’s sack.
Boluarte who previously served as vice President already faced questioning and police raids over her use of several Rolex watches and other jewelry that seem at odds with her modest public salary.
But She has denied wrongdoing in the case, arguing that the luxury goods were loaned to her by a local governor.
