Valuables worth millions of Naira were destroyed in a fire at the Mundubawa residence of former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau.
The fire, believed to have started in the kitchen, quickly spread throughout the property.

According to Public Relations Officer for the State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, Firefighters from the State Fire Service managed to contain the blaze, but significant parts of the house were damaged, including two rooms, two kitchens, two sitting rooms, two stores, a central sitting room, a corridor, and toilets.

Abdullahi stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but residents suspect it was due to an electrical spark.
