Kaduna State Government has denied reports that it hired a private negotiator to facilitate the return of over 200 school children abducted in Kuriga community, in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
Some outlets had reported that the Kaduna State Government had engaged the services of a negotiator to facilitate the release of the abducted students and staff of Government Secondary School, Kuriga.
But a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, Muhammad Shehu described the report as fake, noting that the State Government was maintaining its stance on non-negotiation with terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements.
The statement cautioned the media to be cautious in the way they craft and publicise stories on security in order not to jeopardize the efforts of Government and security agencies in rescuing the abducted children.
