Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian Opposition leader, Alexei Navalny is rallying more opposition against Russian President, Vladimir Putin and is set to address the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France today.
Navalnaya, who had long stayed off the spotlight has stepped up to a new role following Navalny’s death in a remote penal colony in the Russian Arctic on February 16.
She would speak to members of Parliament who are gathering to honor Navalny’s life, are later expected to debate Navalny’s death and condemn President Putin.
They will discuss the dangerous situation facing opposition figures, journalists and human rights defenders in Russia, before making a resolution.
