The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, says the Tinubu administration is working tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of the people by actively tackling rising prices of food and general commodities inherited from the previous government.
The finance minister stated this on Tuesday at the Public Wealth Management Conference in Abuja, noting that the federal government is aware of the plight of the people and is putting measures in place to ensure an end to the sufferings.
According to him, government has kick started interventions especially in food supplies with the release of forty-two thousand metric tons of grains and another sixty thousand metric tons expected to be released soon.
On the 22.7 trillion naira Ways and Means approved by previous administration, Edun explained that an audit is ongoing and details would be released soon
He also submitted that the Federal Government plans to double its tax revenues with policies already yielding positive results.
