The Super Eagles have moved 14 places higher in the latest FIFA ranking following a great showing at the just-concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
FIFA wrote on its website that no fewer than six teams scaled ten places or more with African champions, Côte d’Ivoire moving up to 39th, Nigeria moved to 28th, up 14 places while Angola made the highest movement on the ranking table, to 93rd a up 24 place movement.
The latest move makes the Super Eagles Africa’s number three team on the world rankings, only behind Morocco who are 1st in Africa and 12th and Senegal, who are 2nd in Africa and ranked 17th in the world.
