The comptroller general of immigration, Wuraola Adebayo says the automated process deployed to ease the issuance and application process of passport for Nigerians and non-Nigerians has come to stay.
The nis boss said this at the passport office Ikoyi, Lagos while on routine check on the efficiency of the process, insisting that it would eliminate bottlenecks that marred passport processes.
Recall that the minister of interior Olubunmi Tunji-ojo had announced an overhaul of the passport application process, which would be automated and in three phases.
Adebayo stressed that once the process is fully automated, applicants will only need to visit the passport office only once in a life time, to process passports.
