Cameroon would on Monday become the first country in the world to roll out a vaccine programme against malaria, developed by British drugmaker, GSK.
The Central African country will be the first country to administer doses through a routine immunisation programme, following successful pilot campaigns in Kenya, Ghana and Malawi.
The World Health Organization (WHO)-approved RTS,S vaccine is expected to be deployed in Cameroon’s 42 worst-affected districts.
Only Twenty other countries are expected to follow suit this year after GSK said it can only produce about 15 million doses a year.
