The suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu has not stopped operations in the ministry as the Permanent Secretary, Abel Enitan, has assumed responsibility.
His action is in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu,who suspended Edu on Monday over the alleged payment of public funds into private accounts.
It was gathered that Enitan assumed responsibility after a letter to that effect from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (oSGF).
The massive scale of allegations of financial impropriety had forced some persons to suggest an immediate scrap of the ministry as it appeared to have become a conduit for corruption.
