Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today led an arrest of okada riders, including a soldier plying against traffic along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Although most of the riders fled on sighting the convoy of Governor Sanwo-Olu, one of the offenders – a lance corporal in the Army – was arrested with his bike.
A trending social media video captured the moment the governor stopped his convoy and went after the riders.
Recall that the Lagos State Government under Governor Sanwo-Olu had since 2020 outlawed the operations of commercial motorcycles in some parts of Lagos due to security challenges and their unruly behaviours on the road.
However, the motorcyclists have continued to defy the government ban and operate occasionally in areas where the preying eyes of the State Task Force is not evident.
