Lagos state Police Command says it has arrested three suspects for allegedly robbing a woman of N3.2 million and a vehicle.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest said the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) tracked and arrested the suspects, led by one Sheriff Owolabi, who had been on the wanted list of the police.
Hundeyin said Owolabi’s confession to the crime led the police to arrest another gang member, Ibrahim Gambo, in the Ibafo area of Ogun, who revealed that they took the robbed car to Ibadan and disposed it to a suspected receiver who came from Cotonou, Benin Republic.
He added that one Sheriff Olakunle, was also arrested in Mushin for helping the suspects sell the stolen phones in the area, leading the police to the POS operator, who assisted the robbers in cashing the money transferred from the victim’s account.
Hundeyin said investigation was ongoing to arrest the suspected receiver of the stolen goods and the suspects will be prosecuted according to law.
