A global Celebrity of South Korean descent, Lee Sun-kyun renowned for his performance as the wealthy patriarch in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite”,
Has been found dead in what has been deemed a suicide.
The 48 year old who was the face of the first South Korean movie to win an Oscar had faced police questioning three times over accusations of illegal drug use amid a government crackdown, with one session running 19 hours over the weekend.
An Entertainment Journalist, Nick Ailen said the actor faced the prospects of spending jail term if found guilty.
The actor, who was married to actress Jeon Hye-jin and had two young sons with her, rose to international fame with Parasite, as it became the first non-English language film to win the Best Picture Oscar.
