Israeli army has said it was reviewing the report of a Maghazi incident, where Palestinian health officials claimed that Israeli airstrikes killed at least 78 people in Gaza, one of the besieged enclave’s deadliest nights in the 11-week-old battle with Hamas.
In a statement by spokesperson, Israel defense forces, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the reports will be examined to ascertain the facts, while restating commitment to minimising harm to civilians.
Hagari also stated that recent operations in the Gaza strip have revealed tunnels used by Hamas for strategic military planning and operations, noting that the defense forces will continue to flush out the criminal masterminds.
Hamas has however denied the Israeli charge that it operates in densely populated areas or uses civilians as human shields.
