Lalong, a member of the All-Progressives Congress was sworn in during plenary presided over by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio at the National Assembly to replace Napoleon Bali of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was sacked by the Court of Appeal in November.
Earlier a three-member panel of the Appeal Court led by Elfrieda Williams-Dawodu had sacked Bali who was declared winner of the February 25 plateau south senatorial election and declared Lalong as the winner instead.
