Lagos state government says it is on track in the implementation of its mass transit project, to diversify the means of transportation in the state and open up corridors for investment and economy development.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said this at the commissioning of the Ikeja Overlay bridge, stating that the project is a testament of his focus and zeal to ensure that movement in the state is at par with other advanced cities in the world.
According to him, the government will deploy 150 CNG buses within the first quarter of next year and 1000 CNG buses before the end of the year, in addition to 10 new ferries to be added 27 existing one to further lessen the burden on the roads.
The Governor however appealed to Lagosian to treat government properties with extreme care, to ensure that the projects are well preserved and serve their purposes for an extended period, as planned by the government.
