President Bola Tinubu on Monday inaugurated the Board and Management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, noting that his government is working hard to rid the industry of oil theft and pipeline vandalisation.
Recall the President recently appointed Pius Akinyelure as the new Non-Executive Board Chairman of the company and reappointed Mele Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer.
Others include Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya, the Chief Financial Officer, and Ledum Mitee, Non-Executive Director.
Others are Musa Tumsa, Non-Executive Director, Mr Ghali Muhammad, Non-Executive Director, Prof Mustapha Aliyu, Non-Executive Director, Mr David Ogbodo, Non-Executive Director, Ms Eunice Thomas, Non-Executive Director, Mr Okokon Ekanem Udo, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance and Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Responding after their inauguration, Akinyelure called for an overhaul of the nation’s security architecture to enable the company to attain the two million barrels per day production threshold in 2024.
The board chairman said that the company would implement key performance indicators of the oil industry to enable the country to become number one in Africa and probably compete with leading oil and gas companies around the world.
