Former Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma has been placed under house arrest following November 26th alleged attempted coup.
According to the Sierra Leonean authorities, some of Koroma’s former guards allegedly took part in the unrest, prompting the police in Freetown to question and place him under a regime akin to house arrest.
In a statement, Minister of information, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, said the former president who led Sierra Leone from 2007 to 2018, had been released on condition that he remains within the confines of his property (in Freetown) and that he receives a limited number of guests.
