The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Thursday, presided over the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting for the first time in several months since a protracted conflict between him and ailing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
There have been no SEC meetings due to the absence of Governor Akeredolu who returned to Nigeria in September after spending several months in Germany, attending to his health and has since been recuperating in his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
However, the latest development is seen to be the outcome of an intervention by President Bola Tinubu who had summoned the political actors in the state to a meeting in Abuja where it was agreed that Aiyedatiwa should continue to perform his duties as deputy governor.
At the time of filing this report, the resolution of the meeting was not known.
