Vice President Kashim Shettima is in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, for the 37th annual Akesan Festival.
Shettima, who is the special guest of honour, was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Governors of Kogi and Kwara States, Yahaya Bello and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
On arrival, The vice-president and the delegation were received by Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and other top Federal and State governments functionaries.
Akesan, historically known as a daughter to an Alaafin was said to have migrated alongside her husband Ajagbe from Ile Ife to finally settle in Iperu around the 13th or 14th century.
