A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, has ordered that former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Godwin Emefiele, be remanded in Kuje prison pending determination of his bail request.
Justice Hamza Muazu said Emefiele will remain in prison until November 22, when the court will deliver a ruling on his bail motion.
The Judge said he could not rule on the request as he needed more time to review the authorities cited by Emefiele’s counsel, Mathew Burkaa SAN, and Rotimi Oyedepo who vehemently opposed the request on behalf of the Federal Government
Emefiele is facing a reviewed six counts of procurement fraud of upto 1.6billion naira.
