The Court of Appeal on Thursday in Abuja sacked Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, declaring the election that brought him in inconclusive.
A 3-man panel of Justices led by Justice Sybil Gbagiz, ordered that fresh election be conducted at Maradun Local Government Area of the State and in other areas where elections were either cancelled or did not hold at all.
The Court held that the use of IREV information to declare Lawal as governor in the absence of polling units results were unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional.
The judgement followed an appeal that was lodged before the court by the immediate past governor of the state, Bello Matawalle, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the election.
