The Court of Appeal has struck out the case of the PDP and its candidate, Olajide Adediran against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and affirmed him as duly elected Governor of Lagos State.
In a unanimous judgement, the Court also affirmed that the tribunal was correct to have dismissed the forgery claim against Governor Sanwo-Olu as it was a pre-election matter and that the appellants failed to prove their allegations of forgery and non-qualification against Governor and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat.
Recall the three-man panel of justices on the Lagos State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on September 25 affirmed the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner, following which the petitioners approached the Appeal Court.
The Court is presently ruling on the appeal of the Labour Party and its Candidate in the last Governorship election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
