The chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi announced this shortly after the passage of the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget by the House.

Speaking to reporters, Bichi stated that the committee had eliminated the item and transferred the funds to the student loan division, totalling N10 billion.

The presence of a N5 billion designated to the purchase of a presidential yacht had generated outrage from Nigerians but a Presidential media aide claimed that yacht was for the Navy.
