The Court of Appeal Abuja has upheld the election of Joshua, the son of Professor Jerry Gana of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Lavun/Mokwa/Edati Federal Constituency Niger State, in the House of Representatives.
In a unanimous decision,a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal set aside an earlier judgment of the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, delivered on September 11, which nullified Gana’s election and ordered a rerun.
At the same Court, the three-member panel, presided by Justice Biobele Georgewill affirmed the election of Mohammed Ndume and Kaka Lawan of Borno South and Central Senatorial Districts.
The court held that the petition of Muhammed Kumalia and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the election of Lawan and Kudla Satumari and PDP’s petition against Ndume lacked merit.
