The Supreme Court will on Thursday deliver the judgment on the appeals by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
According to Punch, the date was disclosed by the Supreme Court’s Director of Information, Dr. Festus Akande.
Atiku and Obi are asking the Apex Court to set aside the judgment by the presidential election tribunal which affirmed the election of President Tinubu.
Recall that on October 23, 2023, a seven-member panel of the Supreme Court Justices, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, reserved judgment after parties in the appeal adopted their briefs of arguments.
Atiku is seeking the nullification of Tinubu’s electoral victory at the apex court for allegedly presenting forged academic certificate to INEC to contest the presidential election.
