The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomosho has nullified the emergence of the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.

Recall that the Oyo State government on September 8, 2023, announced Pastor Ghandi as the new Soun, in contravention of an earlier order of the Court in a case filed by Prince Kabir Laoye challenging the selection process.

Prince Kabir Laoye said the process that brought about the emergence of Ghandi was faulty, seeking nullification of the emergence of the new Soun and pleading for a fresh selection process.

Justice Adedokun while delivering the judgement said the selection process and emergence of Laoye was illegal.

The Judge ordered Ogbomosho kingmakers to go back and start the fresh selection of the new king.
