Federal government has promised to tackle proxy farming and bottle necks in food distribution to improve food availability, storage and distribution in Nigeria.

In a statement today, minister of state for agriculture and food security Aliyu Abdullahi stated that President Tinubu has ordered a review of policies in the agricultural sector to create an enabling environment that encourages farming and promotes ease of doing farm business in the country.

According to him the government will establish a monitoring and distribution mechanism to ensure that all programs and provisions of the government are not hijacked by selfish persons, stating that the new farming season will experience a major change in farming activities.

He also noted that the president is interested in plans put in place to mitigate the effect of climate change in relation on its influence on farm yields.
