The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Abdulmalik, has decried the poor state of judicial properties in the state, describing the situation as a sad reality that betrays the status and pride of the profession.

The Chief Judge made the call today, during the last day of the special court session to mark the 2023/2024 Legal Year which took place at the High Court complex in Minna.

According to her, some court rooms in the state are operating in rented accommodations while others are dilapidated, attributing the trend to insufficient allocation of funds for capital projects in the judiciary.

She noted that delays in legal processes will continue to be a significant challenge, despite the provisions for speedy trials as provided by the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in the State, if pockets of inconsistencies are not addressed.
