The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Keisha, has stated that a complete overhaul of the layers of asphalt on the Third Mainland Bridge will begin at the latter end of January 2024.

Speaking during an interview today, Keisha stated that previous repair works on the bridge has been partial because of financial constraints but the federal government had given clearance for a complete repair which will be in two phases of three months each.

Keisha also gave updates on lagos-ibadan expressway, saying that the nature of the road demands a segmented repair to allow movement while construction continues.

The Federal Government had announced that the Third Mainland Bridge will be closed to traffic from Saturday, to Sunday for palliative works.
