Egypt has commenced repairs on the Rafah border crossing into the Gaza strip in preparation for the delivery of some of the aid stockpiled in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, with more than 100 trucks waiting close to the crossing on the Egyptian side today.

Earlier, U.S president Joe Biden announced that he had finalized a deal with Egypt to allow aids into Gaza.

On his part, former Israeli ambassador to the UK, Mark Regev stated that the aids may be halted if intercepted or hijacked by Hamas.Rafah is the only crossing not controlled by Israel but has been out of operation since the first days of the conflict in Gaza following Israeli bombardments on the Palestinian side of the border.
