Newcastle United have confirmed Sandro Tonali is being investigated in relation to illegal betting activity.

The Premier League club released a statement today stating that Sandro is fully engaging with the investigation and will continue to cooperate with all relevant authorities.

Newcastle United also noted that due to the ongoing process, Sandro and the club will not offer further comment at this time.

Newcastle fears the midfielder will be given a lengthy suspension as a result of his alleged role in an Italian betting scandal.
