Lagos Government Urges LASEPA to Review Operations, Ensure Compliance to State Laws

Lagos state government has urged the environmental protection agency to review and upgrade its operations and services in line with practices obtainable in advanced parts of the world.

commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab said this today during a session with the new general manager of LASEPA, Babatunde Ajayi and members of management.

According to him, he charged them to review their operations strategies in accordance with accepted international best practices, directing the Zonal Directors, Monitoring and Enforcement Units to begin advocacy and strict enforcement by closing any public place causing environmental nuisance across the State.

Tokunbo stated that actions that contravenes the State Environmental Management Protection Law should be sanctioned without hesitation, to ensure enforcement of state laws.
