The Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has announced that resumption of Lagos rail mass transit LRMT blue line with an increase in trips from 12 to 54 trips per day which he said will increase to 74 trips by the end of November.
Sanwo-olu made this known via x today, noting that the blue line was temporarily paused for safety but have now been fully energised for a brighter future, urging passengers not to attempt access to the rail tracks for any nefarious or otherwise activities.
In the meantime, the state government has ordered the reopening of mile 12 international marketafter it was sealed on friday.
The commissioner for the environment and water resources, tokunbo wahab, said the market was reopened after a thorough assessment of environmental compliance, waste management practices within the market.
Also speaking on the reopening, the managing director of the Lagos waste management authority LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the authority is committed to environmental sustainability and public safety, especially around market facilities in the state.
