The Federal Government is proposing N26 trillion as the 2024 budget which will be submitted to the National Assembly before December 31, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu at the end of the Federal Executive Council Meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He disclosed that FEC also approved the 2024/2026 medium term expenditure and fiscal framework, (MTEF), with a crude oil benchmark sale of $73.96 and an exchange rate of N700 per dollar.
Also, President Bola Tinubu also approved the conduct of the federal executive council (FEC) weekly meeting to be held every Monday.
The weekly FEC meeting which is presided over by the president and attended by cabinet members as well as other top aides to the president and previously held every Wednesday.
But Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, revealed that the FEC meetings may not be held weekly until there are pressing issues to discuss.
