The Court of Appeal, Yola Division on Monday nullified the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo, representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial District.

The appellate court, in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of Justices, vacated the tribunal judgement that earlier affirmed Abbo of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the valid winner of the Senatorial seat.

The Court ordered INEC to withdraw Certificate of Return issued to Abbo and issue same to Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Amos Kumai.

Recall Abbo, an outspoken lawmaker courted controversy in 2019 after he assaulted a lady, Osimibibra Warmate, in a sex toy shop in Abuja.
