President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwuni Adesina, says corruption is not an African issue, advocating constant improvement in transparency, accountability, and the use of public resources.

In a statement today, Adesina said the global financial is sponsored by greed and selfish ambitions, stating that governments must be accountable to their people as national resources should not be diverted into private purses.

According to the AfDB boss, there has to be transparency on how resources are acquired and used, insisting that government must work based on programs and policies.

He further submitted that the fastest way to poverty is through exporting raw materials, while urging governments to invest in value addition and global collaboration.
