
The Benue state government says it plans to demolish all illegal structures that fail structural and integrity tests in Makurdi, the state capital.
The state’s commissioner for works and housing, Itiza Imojime in a briefing explained that the decision of the state executive council to approve the demolition was to tackle perennial flooding in the state capital and ensure the protection of lives and property.
The action follows the recent collapse a dunamis church in the state which took the life of ne person and injured four others.
He also urged youths in the state to submit their data for capturing at the ministry of youths, sports and creativity as the council was working on plans to unveil a programme that would address the immediate needs of the people.
