The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has appealed to the federal government to fix the Benin/Warri highway without further delay.

In a condolence statement by the President of the association Williams Akporeha, he described the October 1 petrol tanker fatal accident as an avoidable loss caused by negligence of government.

According to him, the union has made several attempts to fix the road, written to concerned government and begged concerned stakeholders, all to no avail.

He however called on state and federal government to as a matter of urgency fix the road to avoid similar tragedies or risk action from the union which may include total withdrawal of services from the Federal Highways.
