The Federal Government, in a move to avert the planned nationwide strike on October 3, has summoned an emergency meeting with the leaders of Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, and their Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, counterpart.

Reports say NLC and its TUC received the government’s invitation this morning through the Ministry of Labor and Employment, with the meeting fixed for 12 noon, rescheduled to evening to enable Organized Labor reach out to their leaders outside Abuja.

Recall the national executive council had yesterday appealed to organized labor to shelve the planned strike, stating that President Tinubu will address some of their grievances during his Independence Day speech.
