Olayemi Cardoso has officially taken on the role of acting governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Cardoso and the Deputy-Governors-Designate comprising Emem Usoro, Muhammad Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor, and Bala Bello took their oaths of office at a brief ceremony held at the CBN’s head office in Abuja.
Cardoso who has former Chairman of Citi Nigeria, and Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in Lagos would act pending confirmation by the Senate.
A statement from the CBN signed by the Director of Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin also confirmed the resignations of the previous deputy Governors including Folashodun Shonubi, Aishah Ahmad, Edward Adamu, and Kingsley Obiora.
