The embattled deputy Governor of Edo, Philip Shaibu has begged Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State for forgiveness.

Shaibu, who addressed a press conference at his residence asked Governor Obaseki to overlook their political differences and find a place in his heart to forgive him.

“I use this medium to appeal to Mr Governor, if there is anything that I don’t know that I have done, please forgive me so that we can develop our state together,” he said.

“We have just one year to go. We have been the envy of the entire country. So Mr Governor, if there is anything you feel that I have done, please I am sorry. I need us to work together to finish well and strong.”

Shaibu who is embroiled in a battle with his principal over the 2024 elections was recently locked out of his former office in the Government House to the newly allocated office on No 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, Benin City.
