Ministry of Works Inspects Dorman Long Bridge, Debunks News of Damage, Dilapidation

Federal Controller of Works, Lagos says an inspection was conducted today on a section of Dorman-long Bridge connecting Ikorodu Road to Western Avenue (Jibowu-Ojuelegba) to ascertain the level of damage on the bridge.

In a statement by the ministry, Field Headquarters Engineers led by the Federal Controller of Works of the Ministry inspected the bridge to ascertain the veracity of claims in a viral video indicating that a section of the bridge was is in critical condition and requires urgent attention.

According to the statement, inspection revealed that the section of the bridge and other major parts are in good condition, only a negligible portion of the parapet wall was found to be damaged and does not affect the structural stability of the bridge.

The ministry however maintained that the Dorman-long bridge is in good condition and fit for use, dispelling fears of collapse or such reports.
